How long are the Malaga Buggy Tours?
Buggy excursions last anywhere from 1.5 hours for the shortest tour (La Herradura / Almuñecar) to 5-6 hours for the longest (Malaga). The longer tours offer stops for wine tasting and visits to nearby villages. You will also find Buggy tours of 2 or 3-hour duration.
Where are Buggy Tours available?
Malaga Buggy tours are offered in the mountains behind the city, in western Axarquia. They offer routes through the city of Malaga, and the villages of Comares an Moclinejo (25 minutes from the center of Málaga).
Other tours are available west of Malaga in Mijas or Marbella and to the east of Malaga in the area around Nerja and La Herradura.

The Buggys used on these tours are typical 4x4 vehicles with automatic transmission and are easy to drive. Their suspensions are especially made for comfortable off-road driving. They are available in 500cc or 260cc and can accommodate two people per buggy.
Is there an age restriction?
Yes, you must be at least 18 years of age to drive a buggy as a valid driver’s license (Type B) is required. Passengers must be 4 years of age or older.
Do I need a driver's license?
Yes, you must have a valid driver’s license (Type B) and it must be with you on the day of the tour.
Do you need experience driving a buggy?
No experience is necessary. A brief safety instruction will be given before you set off.
Can you switch drivers?
Yes, if both drivers have a valid driver's license, they may take turns driving the buggys.
Can I come without a reservation?
No, trips must be booked online ahead of time.
Can I rent a buggy without a guide?
No, all trips are led by an experienced guide.
Can buggys be driven on public roads?
Yes, tours take place on both public roads and off-road trails and dry riverbeds. This is why a valid driver's license is required.
What should I wear on the Buggy Tour?
Wear comfortable clothing and bring a light jacket or sweater as the ride can sometimes be windy. Drivers must wear suitable footwear. Flip flops and sandals are not safe for driving buggys.
